Private Grief Tending
For those seeking a quieter, steadier way to meet what’s been lost
Grief asks to be witnessed.
These 1:1 sessions are private spaces of care and ceremony —
where your grief can move, speak, and rest without judgment or rush.

Why This Work Exists
Most of us were never shown how to be with grief — only how to hide it, manage it, or move on.
But grief was never meant to be handled alone.
It is a living process that asks for time, tenderness, and presence.
1:1 Grief Tending is not therapy or coaching —
it’s companionship in the sacred work of remembrance and release.
Each session meets you exactly where you are —
gently guiding you back toward breath, embodiment, and belonging.
When grief is met with care, it begins to soften.
And where it softens, life begins to move again.

The Offerings
The Holding
75 minutes · $150 · Online or in person
For those in fresh or acute grief who need an immediate place to land.
A space of deep listening, somatic grounding, and gentle education — where you can speak the truth of what has happened and be fully witnessed.
You’ll learn why grief feels the way it does in your body and mind, and begin to understand the wider scope of grief — how love, change, and loss weave through every part of us.
We’ll move through a simple somatic practice to help the body soften and rest, and close with a small ritual — a reminder that grief isn’t something to fix, but something to tend.
You’ll leave with:
-
A greater capacity to meet and feel your grief — a softening of resistance and a deeper sense that what you feel makes sense.
-
A little more ease and steadiness in your body — space to breathe inside the reality of your loss.
-
One or two personalized practices for continuing to tend your grief at home.
The Threshold
Three × 75-minute sessions · $390 · Online or in person
When we slow down enough to listen, grief reveals that it isn’t here to break us — it’s here to remake us.
The Threshold is a three-session journey for those ready to move beyond surviving their grief and begin developing a relationship with it. Across these weeks, we walk together through understanding, embodiment, and renewal — learning to trust the body’s natural rhythm of grief and praise.
Each session weaves gentle education, somatic practice, and ritual to help you feel less alone and more resourced in what you carry.
You’ll explore:
-
What grief really is — its impact on body, brain, and spirit, and why Western culture leaves us unprepared for it.
-
How to listen to your body’s language of grief through sensation, movement, and breath.
-
The role of ritual and witnessing — why grief was never meant to be carried alone.
You’ll leave with:
-
A deeper understanding of your own grief and confidence that what you feel makes sense.
-
Embodied skills for tending grief — grounding, pendulation, and simple ritual.
-
A personalized grief-tending plan to continue your practice at home.

FAQ's
How do I know which option is right for me? If you’re in acute or recent grief, start with The Holding — it’s a gentle place to land and begin. If you feel ready to develop a deeper relationship with your grief, The Threshold offers more continuity. For those walking with complex or layered grief, The Long Holding gives time and steadiness to unfold your process. If you’re unsure, we can decide together after your first session.
Do I need to have experienced a death to work with you? Not at all. Grief takes many forms — loss of identity, relationship, health, purpose, or home. These sessions welcome all expressions of grief, not only bereavement.
Is this therapy? No. Grief tending is not psychotherapy or counseling. It’s a relational, somatic, and ritual-based practice — rooted in presence, education, and the body’s wisdom. You don’t need to analyze or perform your grief here; only to bring what’s true.
How are sessions held and scheduled? Sessions are 75 minutes, held online (Zoom) or in person in Victoria, BC. After booking, you’ll receive an email to choose your dates and times.
What if I’m not sure I’m ready? I'm not sure we ever feel ready with grief. The good news is that you don’t have to be ready — just willing. These sessions unfold gently and at your pace. You can always begin with The Holding to feel what the work is like before choosing a longer journey.
What if my grief feels too big or messy? All grief is welcome here. These sessions are designed to hold what feels overwhelming or unnamed. Together, we create safety for grief to move — through breath, sound, and simple ritual — without needing to contain or control it. My grief tending is trauma informed, and your safety and well-being are the priority in all sessions.
Can I book again after completing a package? Yes. Many clients return periodically for ongoing tending, especially around anniversaries, transitions, or new losses. You’re always welcome back when you need to reconnect or renew your practice.
