Grief is deeply personal, and aspects of it are meant to be met in solitude. But we were never meant to grieve entirely on our own.
Yet many women find themselves living with profound sorrow and, having exhausted the support available to them, speak about it less and less while enduring more and more of the experience in silence.
Our culture has become increasingly disconnected from the communal, relational, and ceremonial ways grief has been tended throughout human history.

Sanctuary for Sorrow is a monthly ceremonial grief-tending circle for women carrying long-standing, complex, or enduring grief.
Each gathering offers a dedicated space to step out of the demands of daily life and tend to what is present in the heart.
Through grief wisdom, reflection, embodied practice, grief-attuned witnessing, ceremony, creative expression, and community, participants are supported in meeting sorrow with greater honesty, tenderness, and care.
